I didn't mean for this to be the first parakeet photo I uploaded, but when you turn around from the computer and see this... ya kinda gotta click a picture and upload it, y'know?

First... Yes, I did swear off ever owning any hookbills.
Yes, I am now 'mommy' to two cockatiels and 3 parakeets.
Quiet you. A Lady is allowed to change her mind.

First was Jabberwocky (because he burbles), he is the little pale blue on the left. He was found by some folks over Memorial Day Weekend and they didn't even know what KIND of bird it was, but it was banded, so they figured it had to be a pet. I answered their plea for help and picked it up from them at 1:30 in the morning! He's quite nice, but he flies entirely too well. I clipped every other feather, it didn't slow him down, I clipped a few more and it didn't slow him down, so now he has just his elbow/ shoulder feathers and two primaries... it's only slowed him down a LITTLE. little bugger. But he's fairly nice. A bit hand shy, but doesn't bite. I appreciate that a LOT. I tried to find his family, but no one has responded to my many flyers, CL ads or ad in the paper. I guess he's mine now.

Then was Greenie Peet (wow, just don't ask, K?) I've never had a green keet before, but I like how his down is yellow and it makes his green look glowy. I had to get Jaberwocky a friend because the finches wanted nothing to do with him and Jake decided he didn't like the 'intruder', and the poor keet was SO stressed out. Soon as Peet came in, Jabberwocky settled right down. Jake doesn't pick on them as much now either.

And then today, I added the yellow guy. I can't tell what gender it is... it's cere is WHITE. I'm suspecting male though, but time will tell. I've liked the solid yellow ones, and finally found one that they didn't want $40 for, so I got him. He was TERRIFIED when I got him home... and he kind of bites, but no blood, so we're good so far. I tried putting him in a cage by himself to acclimate, and he hid in a corner on the floor. So I put him in with the other two and he clung to the bars of the cage for dear life. I was just starting to really worry about him, when I saw him starting to relax, breathe easier and look around. Then... I turned to look... and saw this. Funniest thing *I'VE* seen all day!
